PPS Association demanded Vigilance Unit in Uttarakhand

Representatives of PPS Association Uttarakhand, led by its President Jaswant Singh called on Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna at his residence on Wednesday and urged him to consider their demands of setting up Vigilance Unit in Uttarakhand State Power Distribution Corporation, Uttarakhand State Power Transmission Corporation, Uttarakhand State Power Production Corporation, PWD, Transport, Education, Finance, Publicity, Labour and Employment, Urban Development and Agriculture departments. They maintained that the measure would ensure high level honesty and transparency in these Departments.
The representatives also apprised him about the proposed posts of office bearers in the structure of Vigilance Units.
Chief Minister Bahuguna appreciating their efforts in the direction of eradicating corruption in the departments assured them to consider their proposals and provide support from the state government. He asked Principal Secretary Home and Director General of Police to hold meeting and prepare concrete proposals in this regard.
In another Charter of Demand, Singh, who is also the President of Uttarakhand  Police Gallantry Medal Awardees Welfare Association, sought from the state government the yearly and a one time grant given to the gallantry Award winners of defence forces by the state government, also for the Bravery Award winner of Uttarakhand Police. He apprised the Chief Minister that the various gallantry award winners of police force like President's Police Medal for Gallantry, Police Medal for Bravery and Prime Minister's Life-saving Medal were still not included in the list which debarred the medal winners from receiving the amount.
The Chief Minister considering the demand seriously asked Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary Home and DGP to hold meeting and do the needful. The representatives included Manikant Mishra, Pramendra Dobhal, Madan Singh Farshwan and Navneet Singh.
